Renewed
That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.
2 Corinthians 4:16 (NLT)
Recently I dreamt I was in extreme pain and was seeking help, but no one seemed to understand. When I awoke, I found I was in extreme pain. I feel at times I am living out the words to the verse in the header scripture as more and more things are beginning to break down in my body. I know some of you fully understand this as we journey into our older age together. Truly the golden years are those of our youth, not those of retirement age. So, it is easy to focus on that fact in this verse. My mind is in my twenties, but my body knows that I am not. Yet I am joyful because as it also states, my spirit is being renewed every day by God’s own Spirit. We live in two worlds or plains.
It is hard to focus on anything else when we are having health problems, or our age is now slowing us down, making it harder to do the things we have been doing in our younger years. It can be very frustrating to make new choices. It is hard to deny our fragility, but it is there to greet us each new morning. Yet, God also greets us new each morning as well with his faithfulness, his love, his strength and mercy. A win-win situation may I say. We have a new day to love one another and to walk with God. We have a new beginning to start, even if the last one was a failure. Every day is a precious new treasure, a new opportunity.

Today is the day God gave you
A day of opportunity and pleasure
A day full of blessings

With abandon and thankfulness
A day to love without measure
A day to praise our God
Take hold of today
For it is like no other
It is special in every way
Take hold of today!
As Paul says, ‘For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.’ (2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NIV).
This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! May you dear brothers and sisters be blessed in it. I send my Love.
Prayer
Merciful God, we take hold of you as we take hold of this day, knowing you will be right beside us, holding us up, opening our eyes to opportunities and blessings. We Praise you God. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
