Earth’s Liberation Day
Hello.
Chances are that most of us have heard this week about the avalanche and landslide in Switzerland, in all probability due to the thawing of permafrost on the glacier involved. It’s not clear yet whether this was due to climate change, but it seems a likely explanation.
Is there any hope for our planet? Will it recover from what humanity has done to it? The Bible suggests that there is hope. In Romans 8:21 Paul tells us that “the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God”.
What’s he talking about? The earth will have a liberation day! This will be when Jesus Christ returns and he brings with him people like you and me, who care about what’s happened to the beautiful world around us.
Meanwhile we can care now for the environment and for how humanity has hurt our blue jewel of a plant.
