Living faithfully in uncertain times

Hello,

Riots in Belfast, political instability and still no peace deal in the Middle-East – it is hard not to be depressed by the news this week. So how are we to respond as Christians in a week like this?

Not by ignoring the headlines.
Not by panicking over them.
But by seeing them clearly, and responding faithfully.

We pray for those in authority, especially when leadership is under pressure.
We seek the good of our communities, even when society feels divided.
We remain engaged, but not enslaved to the news cycle.

And above all, we anchor our hope where it truly belongs. The greatest danger in weeks like this is not instability “out there” but misplaced trust “in our hearts”.

When everything “out there” is shaking, our hope rests securely in Christ, who never does.

Warm regards,

Gavin.
