Thank You

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Hebrews 10:24-25 (ESV)

So, how was your week? I pray it was a blessed one. In October we recognised our dedicated pastors, I wanted to say thank you to all of you all over the world. I also thank all who serve no matter your title or lack of it. We have so many who serve behind the scenes as well as those who serve obviously before us. We are a family, the family of God, and we reach out to each other in so many ways, but I believe the most important way is our love for one another that is expressed so freely.

We as the children of God need one another, and our needs vary, and so we need the song leaders, we need the host of a zoom group, we need those who are dedicated prayer warriors, we need those who called upon a sick or mourning brother or sister. We are all one working family connected by the Spirit of God. And God sees to it that we are inspired to serve each other, doing an integral part for the whole. The Spirit has been speaking to me of the importance of this function and wanting us to realise that we are all important in the family of God. So, I want to say thank you to all of you who serve one another in such a wonderful way.

This is the heart of God. This is who God says he is. He is a God of love: ‘Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love’ (1 John 4:8). We show love for each other because God is a God of love and we are his children. If you pastor these children of God –    thank you! If you love one-another – thank you! If you set up the chairs, wash the dishes, or sweep the floor after services – thank you! We are all important cogs in the working plan of God. I am so proud and so thankful to you all because you give me such joy and happiness, such comfort and encouragement.

I admit that I have been watching surgeries again, and as I do so I realise how important every part of the body is and how connected it is. When one-part malfunctions, the whole of the body suffers. There are times when the various parts are so connected that it is hard to tell them apart. Do we as the children of God have such a bond? We do when all are doing their part, the part that God has called us to. We want the big and obvious gifts of God, but do not think that what God has called you to do is ever being unimportant. We give strength to one another, we give time to grow, encouragement to keep moving forward, joy when the world tries to take that away from us. We are all important in the working body of Christ. So, thank you to all who make this world a better place!

Prayer
I wanted to thank you Jesus, Father, and Spirit for your service to us. We are trying to walk in your steps, to live this life that you so graciously gave us, and you are supporting us all the way. Thank you Jesus for giving us one more day to love you and to love one another. Thank you Father for giving us your Son as a guarantee of your love. Thank you Spirit for coming to us and being so tenacious in your faithfulness to us. How blessed we are as your children. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
