Have you been affected by the UK’s recent “fuel crisis”?
One of the side effects of this crisis is an increased interest in electric vehicles. The purchase of an electric car, however, requires a change of lifestyle. Where petrol or diesel cars tend to be topped-up only occasionally, with their tanks being refuelled when they are near empty, electric cars drivers generally recharge the cars' batteries whenever they are near a charging source.
This reminds me of my relationship with God. Do I regularly “top-up” my contact with him, regardless of when I did it last or how long I think I may be able to go without doing it? Or do I only refuel when I’ve “run-dry” spiritually and have no other option?
Knowing what Jesus has done for us leads us to want to constantly be in contact with him through praising him, thanking him and learning from him – naturally carrying out the Biblical instruction to “be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances”. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV
Are you a joyful, prayerful and thankful person? The more you refuel with the love of Jesus, the more you will be.
In Christian love,
