After a week in politics sometimes it’s just not clear who to believe any more.
It reminds me of the words of an ancient writer, a man called Isaiah. He said, in reference to the politics of his time, that “truth has stumbled in the public squares”, Isaiah 59:14 ESV where issues could be debated for anyone to hear and see. But they had lost the plot when it comes to truth and lies. Does this sound familiar?
So many of us tell lies, from little white ones to major whoppers. Whether we’re religious or non-religious, it appears to be part of the human condition. Jesus Christ, upon whom most Christians base their faith, is recorded as saying that we should be straightforward with one another, that when we say “yes” we mean “yes” and when we say “no” we mean “no”. Don’t fudge yours and others’ reality by lying and truth avoidance.
Perhaps the truth is, that if we want to have a truth revolution, it begins with you and me. We look at ourselves and decide to tell the truth and nothing but the truth.
What do you think? Do you want to join a truth revolution?
If so, stop lying and tell the truth.
