Hello,
It was with some interest that I read an article about Adam Peaty on the BBC News website this week. Adam Peaty is a three time British Olympic swimming champion and he holds the world record for the 50 metre and 100 metre breaststroke events.
Last year Adam opened up about the mental health struggles he has had while competing as a top level athlete, but what struck me in his recent article was how he talked about how his Christian faith and church had helped him in his struggles.
It reminded me of a passage of Isaiah where we are told that God is present in our difficulties. It says: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you” (Isaiah 43:2).
Whatever the trials we face in our lives, we do not need to face them alone.
God is with you and for you.
Kind regards,
Gavin
