Hello,
Like many other people I occasionally have the odd craving for fast food.
So it was somewhat shocking to hear today that technology problems at a major fast food outlet stopped them from selling their burgers in four different countries across the globe (including the UK!). One of the major attractions of fast food is its convenience and consistency – and unexpectedly finding their restaurants closed would have negatively affected a lot of their customers.
What about God? If we turn to him do we sometimes find that our prayer-line to him is disconnected for technical reasons? Or that that he has closed unexpectedly for staff training?
Of course not! Psalm 145:17-19 (NIV) tells us:
“The LORD is righteous in all his ways
and faithful in all he does.
The LORD is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.
He fulfills the desires of those who fear him;
he hears their cry and saves them.
The LORD watches over all who love him”
It is only God who is truly available to us 24-7. He is only one who gives bread that can satisfy our spiritual hunger, and who can give us living water that will become in us a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
