Tribute for a hero
Hello,
“He saved my life.” “He was a hero to me.” “I owe him so very much.” “I feel like I have lost a friend.” These are a few of multiple tributes that have poured in following the sad and untimely death of TV presenter Dr Michael Mosley.
Yet, after the sad, untimely death of another man who saved lives and to whom so many owe so much, surprisingly little was said. There was the Roman centurion who exclaimed, “Truly he was the Son of God!” And the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, who added, “He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people.”
What about you? Have you ever considered what people might say about you after you die? It’s a thought, isn’t it?
No one can be Jesus, no one else can be the Son of God. But as his followers, we can be like him. We can be “powerful in word and deed before God and all the people.” How? By the power of the Holy Spirit “whom the Father will send in my name to teach you all things and remind you of everything I have said to you.” (John 14:26)
Let each of us, with the Spirit’s help, be the best version of ourselves that we can be. Let us be living tributes to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Kind regards
Peter
