No more war?

White dove against clouds and rainbow concept for freedom, peace and spirituality

Hello again

It was encouraging this week to read that a permanent ceasefire in Gaza is looking more likely, and may even be in place by Sunday.

I hope and I pray it goes ahead as planned, but I am not sure if any of us would be surprised if the whole thing fell apart at the last moment. In today’s world, peace is short-lived or non-existent because people can’t be trusted (2 Tim. 3:2-4). God, on the other hand, is trustworthy and we can count on him when he tells us of brighter times ahead.

The Bible speaks of a time when nations will no longer fight against each other. A time when there will be no more war (Isa. 2:4). Or, for that matter, death, pain, mourning or crying (Rev. 21:4).

We can also believe it because it is already happening. We who follow the king are already citizens of his kingdom (Phil 3:20).

Best wishes

Peter
