A Kingdom without borders, boundaries or division

Israel-Palestine Conflict: Political Map Highlighting West Bank and Gaza Disputes.

Hello,

Like many people around the world, I was somewhat stunned by new US President’s declaration this week that the US should take over Gaza in the Middle East.

So many wars and atrocities around the world are because of disputes over land. Families tear themselves apart, neighbours become enemies, communities rise up against each other – all over competing claims that the land in question is rightfully theirs.

When Jesus began his ministry, and people began to recognise him as the promised messiah, one of their main hopes was that Jesus would overthrow the Romans and restore to them the land that had been taken from them over the preceding centuries

Jesus’ purpose was much greater than to fix one nation’s land disputes, though. He came to change our hearts and minds from an attitude of conflict and competition to one of cooperation and peace. We did not create this planet and its land is not ours to claim, to take, or to give. It belongs to God who loves us so much that he sent his one and only Son to establish a Kingdom without borders, boundaries and divisions.

Warm regards,

Gavin
