Hello again
When you are watching the news, do you ever find yourself shouting at the television? I know I do.
Why do we find it so hard to keep our opinions to ourselves?
Whether it’s the war in Gaza or the conflict in Ukraine, the polarised positions of political leaders or the ongoing debate on climate change, there is something about our human nature that makes us want to take one side or the other.
I was reflecting on that whole topic this week and it got me thinking, does Jesus take sides?
It occurred to me that, when it comes to the human race, he is on everyone’s side. Jesus is against sin, but he is for everyone. He didn’t just die for some of us, he went to the cross for all of us.
Many years before Jesus was born, the nation of Israel was facing certain destruction and the prophet Moses stood up and asked them a question – “Who is on the Lord’s side?” (Exodus 32:26 KJV).
When it comes right down to it, that is really the only question we need to answer. The Lord’s side is the only side we need to take.
