Father Encouraging Smiling Baby Daughter To Take First Steps And Walk At Home

Hello.

I remember so vividly when my firstborn daughter walked for the first time. She was a little unsteady and all eyes were on her.

Did Jesus do the same? Did the baby in the manger grow up to become a toddler, and what did Mary and Joseph think as he took his first steps?

One of the things we can learn from the story of the baby Jesus is that we all have to begin somewhere, and it’s ok to be a babe in Christ, growing up to make out first unsteady steps in Christ.

For those who are more mature in the faith, it can also be helpful to remember the importance of supporting those who are taking those initial faltering steps – to give them a stabilising hand when it is needed and to help pick them up when they fall.

Wherever you are in your journey, let’s celebrate Jesus this season, and, as the wise men did, worship Jesus our King!

Best regards,
Gavin
