Look up to Jesus
Hello.
On Wednesday I found myself walking home in the evening and I was captivated by the stars in the sky above me.
I don’t often look up to see the stars – sometimes this is because the weather, sometimes this is because I am tucked up at home and do not venture out, and sometimes it is because I am not wearing my glasses so everything is a blur.
In Matthew 17:8 we are told of the disciples at the Transfiguration that “When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus”.
When we look around at the fragile state of our world it is easy to feel panicked and alarmed. In a similar way, when we look inwardly at our personal crises, we can feel overwhelmed.
That why we need to look up. Not just at the stars, but to the one who created the stars. To the one who saves us.
Look up to Jesus.
Warm regards,
Gavin
