Nothing sweeps God’s love away

Hello.

Who cannot be concerned about the devastating floods near the Nepal-Tibet border? Our hearts go out to those caught up in this tragic situation.

It reminds me of one of my favourite verses in Song of Solomon 8:7,

“Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away.”

Not only is this talking about how nothing can separate us from God’s great compassionate love for all of humanity, but it also points to how we can join in God’s love by caring about those caught up in needless warfare and in disasters such as the one above.

Let’s pray lovingly for the victims and their families and do whatever we can do on a practical level.

God remembers them just as Christ remembered everyone on the Cross.

Warm regards,

Gavin
