New every morning
Because of the mercies of ADONAI we will not be consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning! Great is Your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23 (TLV)
There they are, the swallows sitting on the wire waiting for the sun to rise. Waiting for God to paint the beautiful sky that they will fly high into to begin each new day. The way God paints the sky is my passion. The soft blues, the fluffy clouds that change continually. This brings life to the sky. It is a painting that breathes and lives to the full. The sunrises and the sunsets are so fleeting; they appear and disappear so quickly. Truly God loves colour, God loves change, and he is also steady in his love as he brings the sun up each day and the moon that is seen at night. God loves life, and he truly loves us. He places us into his passion, and he gives all these blessings to us. We are his passion. He delights in us. Oh, that we would delight in him and one another so well. What a wonderful world this would be.
We tend to focus on punishment; maybe that is because of our own guilt, but God is full of mercy and compassion as the header scripture tells us, and his love overflows to us; and so, as it says, we will not be consumed because that is not what God wants for us. God’s love is not new, he is love after all, but the way he shows his love is renewed each day; a reminder in case we forget; and oh, how we forget. God’s plan for us is as good as he is good. He has gone through great extremes to show us his love. His plan for us will not fail. We cannot get in the way of what he is doing, we cannot fail him with our prayer life, for his work in us will be complete (Philippians 1:6).
Our job is to love God and to love one another. ‘And he replied, “You shall love ADONAI you God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.’ (Luke 10:27). That does not seem too much to ask, but we slip and fall in this despite the love and example of Jesus. May we renew our compassion as God does for us every morning. May God’s love fill us to the full and overflow to those around us. May you feel his love all around you and so be moved to compassion for your fellow man as God does for you. May you enjoy life and the beauty all around you. This is my prayer for you!

Merciful God, we are so blessed by you every day. Your love and kindness overflows and we are renewed by your love. We thank you God and we praise your mighty name! In Jesus’s name, Amen.
