God’s wisdom

But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.

James 3:17-18 (NLT)

We don’t hear about wisdom much anymore. Even older people, who used to be considered wise, are often seen as out of touch, old fashioned and unfortunately, narrow-minded. It’s still a much-needed commodity – don’t we all wish it were more prevalent in our governments?

Wisdom is worth seeking. It doesn’t come all at once, but through experience and by following the principles offered in our header scripture, especially yielding to others. It’s pretty hard to learn anything when we put ourselves forward and don’t listen to others. God’s wisdom comes from yielding to his Spirit most of all, letting him lead, teach and guide.
